Q: GRID2 crashes when I try to run it! Am I going crazy?

A: Make sure you are running on a computer that meets the minimum GRID2 requirements.

Q: When I run the program, I get an error saying that GRID2 is not authorized for this machine. Am I going crazy?

A: Reinstall from the original installer and re-enter your serial number at the prompt.

Q: I keep getting a message saying "There is nothing to install" when trying to install GRID2. Am I going crazy?

A: If you had previously installed the demo version, the GRID2 installer may see the demo and think there is nothing new to install. To fix just go into your Library/Receipts/ directory and remove and .pkg files that relate to Grid 2.0.3

Q: Each time I run the program it asks me for my serial number. Am I going crazy?

A: Make sure you are logged in as a user with write privileges when registering the software.

Q: The video output looks weird, as if two frames are trying being displayed at once or there is a strange flicker. Am I going crazy?

A: This is known as tearing. Try switching to thte Main Output display mode to OpenGL (from the Displays menu) and selecting ‘re-establish sync.

Q: I loaded in my favorite Flash movies, but they do not play, all I see green. Am I going crazy?

A: In the Preferences under Resolution there is an option to Enable Flash. Or you can upgrade to version 2.0.3 which has automatic Flash detection.

Q: I’ve got a second monitor or TV or projector connected to my computer, but video isn’t being displayed on that screen. Am I going crazy?

A: Make sure you are on a machine that can run in dual desktop mode. Many Macintosh’s (such as the iBook G4) can only run in Mirrored Displayed mode which means that the 2nd screen simply mirrors the main screen. On these machines you can choose to see either the interface (set the main display to off or floating window) or you can choose fill screen 1 and hide the menu-bar. You will still be able to use the keyboard and MIDI to play GRID2.

Q: I saved a set and then moved all the original movie files around, now GRID2 can’t find them. Is there anyway to make my set file work again? Am I going crazy?

A: When loading a set, GRID2 will automatically check to see if the movie is located in the GRID2 media folder. Place your movie files in the media folder and try loading your set again.

Q: When I see my computer on a TV or projector using the S-Video out the screen appears to be slightly too small. In other words, the video output has black around the edges. Am I going crazy?

Display options for s-video/composite output

A: You can get rid of this by going into the Displays section of the System Preferences and turning on Overscan in the options tab. While you’re over there you might as well turn on “Best for Video” which will adjust the Gamma (brightness curve) of your video output to match that of television (it will be darker and have better contrast).

Q: I held down on the option key when hitting the fade button, now everything is blue. Am I going crazy?

A: Yes. Holding down on option while hitting the fade out button will cause GRID2 to fade to peach, not blue.
